Today is the first party - and I am really excited about it. All my best friends are involved and BETS flew in to help out. She is so awesome and way cool and FUN! She is so witty too, and makes everyone smile and laugh. We went out last night and got a little crazy on the dance floor. Well , no one else was dancing so there was plenty of room!!
For the party, I bought the girls who have been helping me, (without them , Jake & I would be nothing) "zebra" skirts. Because we are making it an official social club I had to write guidelines. For instance - act like a lady, and treat every guy as if they are married and every girl as if she is our long lost sister. We can't control what happens or anything but we can do our best to promote fun while not being slutty or too out there!! For goodness sakes we are already wearing super cute zebra skirts and most the time pirate outfits........ so just by looking - judgments. will be flying!! just not normal............ :)
Like this cute young girl I met in a clothing store. She has a little pink in her hair. I asked her about it, and she said it just makes me happy so she always wears a little pink. I so get that - I showed her my hot pink nails I wear in the middle of winter and so instant bonding!! ha ha I do not care about the costumes or pink hair - it is about doing your own thing ...... your own way. (I feel old in red polish) And doing it without the help of drugs and alcohol abuse. That's so stupid. But if occasionally I get on a table and start singing Caren Carpenter songs............ LOL
It is so so so important to me that there are no hidden agendas. Wayne Dyer says, "When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It's to enjoy each step along the way." We want everyone just to enjoy and dance or be smiling from the comfort of the sidelines!!
The simple joys like birthdays and promotions and births I think should be so on front page always!! As well as our sorrows like losses and illnesses. This is everyday life stuff that is vital to the steps that we are dancing. No matter happy or sad, we can't stop. We have to be certain that our very very great news and our very very sad news all will pass, and we can not be grounded in sadness or extreme gladness. We should try to reach for joy in both. That's hard though right. Life sucks you into this super awesome rock star then makes you crash into super sadness. So the only cure for that is to surround yourself with friends. They for sure will slap you when your ego is too big, or will drag your butt back out onto the dance floor!!
I know that we will be adding more beautiful Piratehearts and awesome Buoys along the way - and I know too that some will get busy hopefully following their own passion that is frequently fired up while dancing!! And my prayer is this as we start this new beginning, to remember it is not about becoming the "it" crowd or the place to "be". (ok seriously Tammy, pirates being an it crowd), ok so maybe we do not have to worry so much with that!! ha ha........
It is about creating positive joyful energy and from that people will have a chance to participate. (A chuckie cheese so to speak for adults.) And being active and not scared, getting outside the box, even just to dance, is just the first step in throwing yourself out there and following your own passion!!
"On with the dance! Let joy be unconfined!" Lord George Gordon Byron
So have a great day!! And
Party Like A Pirate!!
OK so - off to make name tags and I bought everyone super cute rubber pirate power rings for the people that actually RSVP'd. I sometimes forget myself to RSVP to stuff so not hating. Just so happy when people do!! Trust me - I am not the queen of manners or etiquette, ( my aunt will assure you, love her)..... but do appreciate it. A whole other subject!!
