Thanks and Welcome

Hello Everyone!!

I can't tell you enough how much fun we had doing this party and putting it together, and then when you guys arrived.  We were so happy.

My husband asked, "What happens if no one shows up?"  As my friend Bets is cautiously applying the eyelashes on Buoy George --  we said - oh well - I guess Buoy George and us 3 will have tons of Pirateheart drinks and have the dance floor to ourselves!!   LOL   We have done that before - but without Buoy George....

And then the other question was - what if we get lots of crazy people.  Well we did , but crazy like us!!  In a good way!!  :)  This group is so fun so of course it will attract the "funnest" people!!      So happy about that -

I took off Friday morning to tennis camp all weekend in Austin,  but I thought of you guys lots.  Thinking - oh I hope they had fun!!  I did!!  And couldn't wait to get back to post pics!!   it was so great!  And I am so looking forward to planning more and more events!!  I love this.  My husband does too - thank goodness.   Thanks so much for putting your emails down.

So this year - if  we work together and get some cool stuff on the calendar - we can maybe repeat it next year and make them bigger.   Maybe one day we can be - just like Red Hat Society - but in pirate outfits, everyone looks fun in pirate outfits!!  :) - and also too we haveguys.(the buoys)   My husband loves to dance and do parades and stuff as much as me..... so an all girl's thing would so not be good for us!!!

We do have a website - www.piratehearts.org   and it has the pirate dance Get the Party Started you can practice to,  as well as part 1 to our PirateHearts "Raise Your Glass" Song - you know Pink sings that one!!    If you want to dance with the piratehearts come join us!! No dance experience needed.... I taught 5year olds for 18 years.........

If you are not on meet ups - please sign up -  there are snow ski trips, and scuba trips, on there that my friends do.  www.meetup.com/piratehearts     I think you have to put a pic in , but my mom put in a pic of a flower.  Oh yes - my 82 year old mom has a facebook and now a meet up -  she says twitter would do her no good, because all she does is cook and clean for my dad.  ha ha - whatever mom - I learned costumes and fun from her!!  :)   There are pics on there too - of the party.... sort of fun - and let me know if a pic goes up that you hate --  we have all been there-  I will cut that baby right out of there!!

Also too - if you want to go to Zumba this Thursday, Feb 3rd at 10m - I with some girls are going to see Eliana and the Zumba girlsthat were at the mixer!!  They were so awesome and fun!!!

And pass the word around about piratehearts      have a great monday - and stay warm tomorrow!!!      Tammy   ChaCha

ps - if you have some cool ideas or something - email me.... that would be great!!   or if you have constructive criticism , I will promise to listen and weigh it carefully!!  :)  We are all just pirates setting sails to........... , I have no idea right now......     that is so Captain Sparrow like  right?????     Stay fun My friend!!

Good Guy Story #1 - Patrick Mechanic in Austin

"Patrick's Mobile Mechanic"  512-579-1663  in case you are in the Austin / San Marcus Area....What a great guy - ....

This weekend, Friday, I drove "Sassy" (my very old, very much loved, but not so pretty Dodge Van) to tennis camp, Newk's, near Austin.  I originally thought I was going to go with my friends and fly home on Sunday to catch my neice's 1st bday party but found out flights were full.   So tank full of gas off I go with the tennis team  caravaning between a beautiful Lincoln town car, and a Lincoln Navigator. (a Lincoln sandwhich LOL)

Almost to the tennis camp, suddenly, boom Sassy's gauge goes way hot.    Crazy hot!   So I quickly turned on the heater and it made the gauge go back to normal (owning used cars all my life, this is second nature) - and called the Lincolns and told them Sassy needed some gas.  I quickly pulled into a gas station and checked out the situation, motioning my friends to go on ahead.  They are very sweet, fun and wonderful and on their way to play some heavy duty tennis.   Thinking about car trouble would dampen a tennis players spirits.

The tennis camp was near by, and my car was not hot at all - I did fill up with gas and we journeyed over to Newks.   I can not tell you how awesome it was, tennis camp.   You know the feeling when you wake up and see a beach and you can;t wait to get out on the sand.  It is that same way at tennis camp.  Our condo was on the second floor and when you woke up , all you could see was tennis courts.   Way beautiful.

Sunday morning I needed to get Sassy some help before our long drive, so I left earlier then my team.  (I did not tell them I was having an issue)  If I needed help they would be behind me anyway..... sooo

I soon pulled into a gas station.  My hood is not on right so it takes 2 people to get it open.  Luckily this nice guy with a huge truck that could honestly drive right over me and Sassy pulled out from getting gas and offered to help.  He was like some guy from a Mad Max movie. Iwas like "woa, that is one huge truck!"   He said his tires on his car cost 2500 each. They were taller then me.   When he got out of his truck he honestly had to jump.   It was awesome!!

So not only was Patrick (my new friend)  able to open my hood,  he had the car talk down.  Bets and I were just talking the other day how guys today are not as interested as they used to be in cars... for whatever reason.  This guys knew everything.

It was determined that I did need water and coolant in my radiator.   Patrick even offered to buy me the coolant but I told him coolant - I could buy,  a new car -not so much.   And smiled.   He had a thing-a-ma-gig that tested the car and gave me the code to get it fixed and he also turned off my engine light that had been  blaring at me.  Jake says - it was not that big of a deal.  And it really wasn't until now.

Patrick said that if the light stayed off my entire trip then I really do not have a problem, just that the engine needs to be cleaned real good.   Anyway - while Patrick who just got out of church - was fixen my car, I offered him my last beer from my tennis camp.  Not a real beer , just a very very light beer (so wishing I had a man beer)   He said no mam'.   Then I asked him if he had a facebook - and I think he actually smirked at that one and said no he does not do that social networking thing.    :)

I tried to make small Pirate talk.   For folks like Patirick - it is hard to figure out this Piratehearts stuff.  I asked for his card and I gave him my Piratehearts business card.   I do not think he is going to sign up on meet-up or anything, but I did want to write him a thank you note.

Anyway - guess who he was.....   A freakin moble auto mechanic!!  I said no way - that is awesome.   He refused to take any money and then he noticed my falling head liner and said.....  Tammy you need to get this liner in Sassy fixed  (yes by now even Patrick knows my van's name :)   I said , yes I do.....  I am getting her hood painted and I think my husband and I should put  a pirateheart on the hood.  ha ha  He smiled and said come see this.

I tippy toed up to his window and peered up at his headliner , and  no pirates or anything - but Patrick had his whole liner decked out on hunting material.    He did it himself, and showed me how.  I thought pirateheart material maybe in Sassy........

My new friend Patrick said goodbye,  and he climbed back into his truck and I got back into Sassy and drove back to Dallas - and yes my tennis team was behind me just in case.   I made it safely home and Jake & I drove to Margaoux's 1st bday party and the world was good.   The engine light stayed off and is still off.  So very excited about that.

More so - very excited about meeting a good ole boy from San Marcus.    No website , well now he has a really good Yelp business review and this other ad thing I made for him  so hopefully he will get some more business.    "Patrick's Mobile Mechanic"  512-579-1663  in case you are in the Austin / San Marcus Area....

Have a Great Day!

And if you need a mechanic in San Marcus / Austin Area - .......  Patrick's Mobile Mechanic!!

Hope you have an amazing tuesday!!

finding the one to run wild with - jungle boogie

Wow - so many fun things going on -so crazy blessed with the best and most Beautiful Zumba teacher that ever walked the planet - and her energy was so fun and incredible, down to the Sports Bar Chill allowing us to have the entire place, including  DJ booth and serving awesome drinks, to meeting all the super fun and cool people, and working all day with Bets, tearing up the house, making "Buoy George" and name tags...... having a great time at the Jungle Boogie Piratehearts party......

I wanted to write about my personal #1 Buoy jake.

I used to sometimes get down on myself cause I would not give in to just getting married or could not find the right one.    My family and friends were getting used to meeting guys and thinking, "I wonder how long this will last."   For 7 years there was a different guy in each family Christmas picture.   I even read my daughter's journal, (another blog) and in it she would write, "I just wished my Mom would get married already."   Finally as we grew up, Katie changed her mind.   She would send me encouraging notes like the quote from Sex & The City, "You just need to find a man that you can run wild with."   And that made me so happy.

And then boom Jake arrives just like that.

Jake says this whole story how God made the lightening strikes and then..........   God said, "Meet that girl!"  So he did an illegal u-turn in front of a cop and followed me and my girlfriend Pam into a bar.  I ironically going to meet a guy I met on Match.    Another story.....

So tonight after dancing all night, tearing up the house, and Jake cooking and cleaning up after me and Bets.  Making sure I eat protein and take my vitamins.   Putting together this party as if it was some grand event, over doing everything from Bets putting eye lashes on Buoy George, from me making a clip board for every Pirateheart Girl - so they can mingle and take names.  ha ha,,,,   crazy - and Jake is just rolling.   When the party is over, he packs up the whole table full of stuff used , you know the wooden eagle, and the box, and the cool plastic bucket center piece with wood sticking out holding our pirate flags -  and Buoy George, yes we had to have all that stuff , including the 14 clipboards and super power rubber pirate rings those too we had to have..  :)    He packs it all up without a word.

Driving home - I say wow, that was way better then I thought it was going to be.   How fun right?   He said of course that he was so proud and how much fun he had too, especially watching Bets and me work so wonderful side by side putting it all together. As if we had it planned for months...   I said maybe one day - we can be like the Sweet Potato Queens and the Red Hat Society but with guys and more pirate cool and we really will have that boat that we talk about..   And Jake replied, "Baby, did you have fun doing this and do you think everyone else had fun too?"  I said it was so much fun.   He said," Then I would rather you do something you love for free then make tons of money doing something you do not enjoy."

Ahhhhh - as we took off on my newly purchased rubber zebra print boots,   Jake even loved loved my new boots.  Although they were hard taking off cause he said I wore the wrong sort of socks for rubber.  Anyway - we got them off.....   and I was feeling like it was Christmas and Santa just delivered my new Sky Convertable that Katie and I cut out..... - another story..... short version - Katie and I would cut out pics of neat things we thought would be fun to have, like Stacy Kebler's body (like that will ever happen)  She was on our fridge - so "is eatting that ice cream worth it"...  at certain times - the whole half gallon is worth it..  ha ha  anyway --------

Jake and I are not perfect as everyone knows.   Cause also everyone knows... because I have this need to spit out every detail of my life......   but we are perfectly perfect for me.    Maybe we loose hope cause we set out on ships for somewhere that lead to dead ends.   And then we find ourselves on islands all over the place, or maybe even jumping from island to island so we just settle for many many reasons.   Maybe we cling on too quickly because we really do like or love that person for whatever reason....  but it is not the same.  It is not the same of the way I felt from day 1 with Jake.  From day 1 I knew he was the one, without question not once did I say, time out, well for 3 days I did, but that was because .... well long story another blog..... but it was 3 days just to be friends... cause I wanted him for life not just be another guy in my Christmas pic.

And there are always ripples and storms that arise but that is good too, for it builds substance and character. We can't live in a box hidden from view - that will for sure destroy us cause we will get loss and then start searching to  "find ourselves"  right????  why do we do that - why is being single is rollar skating w/ 70s disco clothes and getting married is eating dinner playing spades.    Why can't the singles come play card with us and we go roller skating with them... what's up with all that.... anyway ........  that is what this group is about.....  sooo

You know for sure you are so with the "right" one.  When you lay next to each other, you snuggle and so peaceful.  It is a feeling like you are either  in a  warm relaxing jacuzzi tub, or sometimes so much electricity you can't sleep like now.   All the world is a better place, and you can go out and either sit and do nothing, or plan a Jungle Party for no reason at all.   And that is the most incredible feeling in the whole world.  But if you never have it - how would you know it is out there.   And you can see it on some, but unless you actually feel it.......faith trust.. so hard to do, when money and debt, and worldly stuff gets in the way..   so we just have to trust that it is out there for everyone. You are special but not that special where you are to be alone... maybe you are special cause you are on drugs, or lazy, or workaholic but if you are doing your "God" thing  then God will provide.  He just does.     Maybe our egos get in the way - cause we check all the boxes off.... and we make the decision , yes he is the right one....  but he could still be possibly not....no electricity - not the right guy.

My daughter calls me to discuss guys sometimes - after awesome conversations .. she usually asks my opinion..... I always say the same thing (for she is just venting anyway which is vital to us women)    I say Baby, if we are having this conversation then at this time, this guy is not the right one.   Without a doubt if there is a doubt - you need to keep him out of your heart and at arms length.  Cause when you let him in , just because there is something you like about him,,  the two loves, the one where I love you cause you are .......  and the love where I can;t live without you........ will just get all confused and you will be in too deep.  we don't want just a husband.  We want a guy that we can't live without.   This doesn't mean at sometime when timing is right this friend might become for real THE one.   For we grow at different times.  (Maybe the guy is still in his womanizing days, or maybe the girl is in her college get a degree time .....     who knows later...  it may all work out with this same guy)  Jake says timing and chemistry.

.  anyway -

I am just so in love with Jake.

And so I will go back to bed now.   Cause my alarm will ring and I have to pack for tennis camp.  Which was planned in August....  but I am really tired.   And Jake will say , "Baby, do you have money.  do you need some snacks.  do you have your tennis racquet, do you need balls.  what do you need.  i made you breakfast."   He will.   He just will.   Jake says he is sooo proud to be a couple with me,  and he loves our crazy lifestyle.  that is weird cause it would totally drive most people nucking futs.   Actually my last husband had a sign in the garage man cave that said , "My life is driving me nucking futs."   I knew what he was talking about.  I really did - drive him nuts.      I don't drive Jake nuts.   He so gets me.  I so get him.

So thank God - I have found someone to run wild with....   hey that goes with the jungle theme.... see how that works - now I will change my title to jungle theme.     It is easy , like life is suppose to be at times.   Not always - if it was easy all the time - there would be no need to blog this easy part...  for a challenging part is  lurking around the corner for sure!!

I think sometimes we say thanks to everyone and we are in awe of everyone around us and I especially am grateful for all my friends and family.....  but getting down to the very core , there is my husband.

Ok will blog about all the great people I met and stuff when I get back from tennis camp.

Today is the Big Event!! What Are We Doing!!

Today is the first party - and I am really excited about it.   All my best friends are involved and BETS flew in to help out.   She is so awesome and way cool and FUN!   She is so witty too, and makes everyone smile and laugh.  We went out last night and got a little crazy on the dance floor.   Well , no one else was dancing so there was plenty of room!!

For the party, I bought the girls who have been helping me, (without them , Jake & I would be nothing) "zebra" skirts.   Because we are making it an official social club I had to write guidelines.  For instance - act like a lady, and treat every guy as if they are married and every girl as if she is our long lost sister.   We can't control what happens or anything but we can do our best to promote fun while not being slutty or too out there!!  For goodness sakes we are already wearing super cute zebra skirts and most the time pirate outfits........   so just by looking -  judgments. will be flying!!  just not normal............ :)

Like this cute young girl I met in a clothing store.  She has a little pink in her hair.  I asked her about it, and she said it just makes me happy so she always wears a little pink.  I so get that - I showed her my hot pink nails I wear in the middle of winter and so instant bonding!!  ha ha   I do not care about the costumes or pink hair - it is about doing your own thing ......  your own way. (I feel old in red polish)  And doing it without the help of drugs and alcohol abuse.    That's so stupid.  But if occasionally I get on a table and start singing Caren Carpenter songs............   LOL

It is so so so important to me that there are no hidden agendas. Wayne Dyer says, "When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor.  It's to enjoy each step along the way."   We want everyone just to enjoy and dance or be smiling from the comfort of the sidelines!!

The simple joys like birthdays and promotions and births I think should be so on front page always!!  As well as our sorrows like losses and illnesses.   This is everyday life stuff that is vital to the steps that we are dancing.  No matter happy or sad, we can't stop.  We have to be certain that our very very great news and our very very sad news all will pass, and we can not be grounded in sadness or extreme gladness.  We should  try to reach for joy in both.   That's hard though right.  Life sucks you into this super awesome rock star then makes you crash into super sadness.  So the only cure for that is to surround yourself with friends.  They for sure will slap you when your ego is too big, or will drag your butt back out onto the dance floor!!

I know that we will be adding more beautiful Piratehearts and awesome Buoys along the way - and  I know too that some will get busy hopefully following their own passion that is frequently fired up while dancing!!  And my prayer is this as we start this new beginning, to remember it is not about becoming the "it" crowd or the place to "be". (ok seriously Tammy, pirates being an it crowd), ok so maybe we do not have to worry so much with that!!  ha ha........

It is about creating positive joyful energy and from that people will have a chance to participate. (A chuckie cheese so to speak for adults.)    And being active and not scared, getting outside the box, even just to dance, is just the first step in throwing yourself out there and following your own passion!!

"On with the dance!  Let joy be unconfined!"   Lord George Gordon Byron

So have a great day!!   And

Party Like A Pirate!!

OK so - off to make name tags and I bought everyone super cute rubber pirate power rings for the people that actually RSVP'd.    I sometimes forget myself to RSVP to stuff so not hating.   Just so happy when people do!!    Trust me - I am not the queen of manners or etiquette, ( my aunt will assure you, love her).....   but do appreciate it.   A whole other subject!!
