Playing With Boys

Playing with the Boys!!!
I was watching 3rd grade basketball game and at half time the score was tied!  This basketball is more exciting to watch then my high school!  Anyway - the other team pulled out their secret weapon - a girl!  Not a big girl - a little girl with pig tails and a skinny frame.   Tyler's (our grandson who we were watching) team was all like "whaaaattt?"  Easy.... a "girl!!" (giggling) And then their attitude changed to "Holy Crap".  This little girl was all over the place, blocking, shooting, pressing, and jumping in and steeling, and hard passes to her teammates.    Her feet moved so fast back n forth - she was crazy.  next thing you know - the other team had 14 extra points.     This girl was the ultimate honey badger.  She didn't give a ----!    She went for it!
Ok - when she walked on the court - she looked a little spastic, crazy - a little wild.   Even the audience was snickering.   Then the tone changed to - "they shouldn't let girls pick on those boys!!"   LOL   She was awesome!!

I guess - never judge a book by the cover!!  I wanted to go get her autograph!!!  But more importantly -  she had no fear!!!

So go out - be a little WILD - Shoot some shots - Don't be scared to miss.  Pass the ball and mean it  - get your feet moving!!  Keep you eye on the goal!!     No sitting on the sidelines!!   Play Ball!!  And your team -( family , friends ) , will be glad!!

Happy! why be happy

Personal note - our very good friend Bets Love flew her first flight as her return as a stewardess. Yes she knows they are called flight attendants but in her flying world, originating w/ Pan Am and retiring from Delta - she prefers to be called a "stewardess". LOL - WE are so proud of her.    Go Bets!!!

I watched a documentary called "Happy" the other day - and it said that people who are happy are constantly finding a different way to never let life get stale.   It could be as easy as driving a different way to work, get the heart pumping, a different way.  I think all of us collectly (piratehearts) live our life, supporting each other and getting our heart pumping to different beats.   Never letting our drums get boring right??? - Learning new things - taking risks - putting ourselves out there.
The show also said people who go through a tragedy have the ability to reach huge heights of "happiness", but the key is to find the light as soon as possible and overcome as quick as possible.  Maybe the longer the darkness holds on - the tighter the grip.  I don;t know - but you hear that all the time.  people get sad or bitter or they start a new life, one usually so full of enlightment and peace.    Just FYI - Japan is the most depressed country in the world and men actually die from too much work.  They have a name for it, Karoshi - death from overwork.
