The World is Your Oyster

The one thing I learned from my days of singleness to the days of having a husband is that, "As long as you are single, the world is your oyster!"   When married , that oyster can shut like a tight drum or it can open up a world that is more free and fun then you can ever imagine!!

There are so many different types of oysters all created because of the environment they grew in.  Texas oysters are huge and saltier and New England oysters are smaller.  Bringing a New England to Texas will not change their shape and size. They will always be New England oysters.  That is the challenging part.  We go in and out of different groups and we want to fit in.   On the outside we might even start dressing like the new group but on the inside we are the same.

Like when Princess Di married Prince Charles . Princess Di was such a young soul.   And to Charles, Di looked like the perfect pearl.  You can't blame Charles or Di, they had not the tools to make appropriate decisions for their own life.  However with this new couple....  Kate and Will.   They seem to be much older and real.     REAL - is the key word right?  Their souls seem to be more grounded and secured, able to make appropriate change in their world.

It is hard to have God moments (moments that make you sigh) when lost with the wrong partner.   We sometimes get too wrapped up in "making" that happen or spending my time buying clothes that "they" would like..  But with the right partner - it is easy.   God moments keep happening and  your clothes are perfect!!

I guess that could be true of friends.   We sometimes want to fit in that "perfect" group. You know , on paper it is awesome, but in real life.....   just like that guy or girl.  :)  Sometimes we even put on fronts to fit in making ourselves actually  more alone then before.     People can't stand beside you if they do not know you.   And you will spend too much time with relationships that are built on false foundation.   Might last for awhile, but will eventually fall.

Being single, the world is your oyster, but being married it is easy to get sucked in to a black hole with barely opportunity for escape.    But with the right partner, your world is more free and larger then you ever imagine!!!   And your clothes are already perfect!!
